Making Spirits Bright

2017 WOTS Holiday Party

Save the date and a request for silent auction items.

We are proud to support girls who are going off to college through our Scholarship Fund. You make that possible. Thank you!

That money comes from two sources: your membership fees (whatever is left after our running costs, lunches, networking events etc are paid for) AND funds raised at the annual Holiday Party Silent Auction.

Would you like to contribute to the auction?

Please email me at with a description and the retail value. I’ll create a bid sheet for it.

Bring the item on the night of the party OR drop it off with Kelly DeFlieger at Haven Hair Salon: 409 Main Street, Suite 110, Frisco (in the Frisco Mall).

Multiply Your Time by Procrastinating on Purpose

Do you feel like you’re busier than ever – yet never caught up? Like there’s never enough time in the day? You’re not alone, many of us are tired, frustrated and stressed from being overworked with no concrete plan for getting it under control without compromising our well-being. Using concepts from the book Procrastinate on Purpose by Rory Vaden, you will learn to:

  • Identify your most significant priorities, in business and in life
  • Create more time to do the things you love without sacrificing results
  • Say no to the things that don’t matter, and yes to the things that do
  • Implement systems that give you more time tomorrow than you have today
  • Gain control and inner peace by adopting the “multiplier mindset”

Please join the Women of the Summit on Thursday, June 15th at 11:45am to learn how you can create more time and multiply your time from Amber McCrackin, Owner/Founder of Ambiance Counseling! Lunch will be catered by Food Hedz.

Courtney Kirschbaum’s notes are here!

Luncheon Topic:  “The Magic of a New Beginning and a Fresh Start”

Courtney Kirschbaum, CEO & Founder at CK Consulting LLC

Women are limited by the paradigms we work and think in, the assumptions about who we are and what we do, and the environment we live in.  We seldom ask “What am I doing for me?  What am I getting out of my work?  What drives my life”?

People tend to give up what they believe in and go towards security and safety.

“State of Grace” = when you have a great talent and you intersect it with what you do.  This cannot be counterfeited.

Three questions you should be asking:

1)  Are you surrounded by people who believe in you?

2)  Are you where you want to be?

3)  Are you doing what you love?

Four Ways to Change:

1)  Find your “Core Genius”.  Your “core genius” is something you do better than just about everyone else you know.  It is the “first cousin” to the “State of Grace”.  Most people don’t appreciate what they bring to the table.

2)  Practice the “Rule of 5”.  Identify a primary goal, and do 5 thinks every day that will get you closer to your goal (“massive action gives you massive results”).  Keller Williams developed the following plan of action, which proved to be very effective for them.  Every week a salesperson would do:

a)  5 in-person meetings

b)  10 calls

c)  15 thank yous

d)  5 property reviews

3)  Participate in “Mastermind” groups.  There are Four “States” of action:

a)  Waiting (resignation, procrastination, indecision).

b)  Striving (a lot of trying but not a lot of getting).

c)  Wanting (discontent and possible desperation).

d)  Having (state of relaxation, belief that everything is “going to turn out ok”).

A “mastermind group” is a group of 5 or 6 people working together to “have each other’s back”.  The basic philosophy is that more can be achieved in less time when people work together.  Group topics can be personal or professional, but each member must be comfortable with telling the truth and being honest.

4)  Create a “Mindset”.  There is a belief in our culture that “success leads to happiness”.  A Harvard study showed that happiness actually ends when you accomplish a goal.  The “mindset” needs to be that happiness comes first.  Those who are in a “happy state” are more “successful”.  They have the “happiness advantage”, which leads to positive social support, an effective ability to deal with stress, and an overall positive outlook.

“No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind”

-Napolean Hill

“Do the Work

Our enemy is not lack of preparation; it’s not the difficulty of the project, or the state of the marketplace or the emptiness of our bank account.

The enemy is resistance.

The enemy is our chattering brain, which, if we give it so much as a nanosecond, will start producing excuses, alibis, transparent self-justifications and a million reasons why he can’t/shouldn’t/won’t do what we know we need to do.

Start before you’re ready”

-Stephen Presfield
