May 20, 2010 Luncheon

Katie Roberts from Summit Independent Business Alliance (SIBA) will be speaking to us about the alliance, a non-profit organization that strives to support and sustain quality of life within Summit County, Colorado by preventing the displacement of locally owned, independent businesses, ensuring ongoing opportunities for entrepreneurs, and advancing citizen engagement in directing the development of their mountain community. SIBA is a unique, non-profit organization that’s based on a proven business model, and consists of both citizen members and local, “indie-biz” owners.

Katie will also be providing us with additional information about the upcoming Sustainabiz conference on June 2, 2010, which SIBA is co- sponsoring.  SustainaBiz 2010 will include presentations by over a dozen local and regional experts, geared toward community leaders, business owners, and employees — especially, those who care about improving the economic vitality of Summit County through a more holistic, sustainable approach.  This highly affordable, daylong event will feature a prestigious lineup of local and regional experts, two panel discussions with sustainable-business case studies, roll-up-your-sleeves breakout sessions, networking opportunities and more- all focused on the subject of sustainable business.   For more information about SIBA and SustainaBiz 2010 prior to our meeting, please visit

Kim Divine from Mountain Comfort Furnishings will also be speaking to us about new fundraising ideas!
